Swarm. The swarm can occupy another creature’s space and vice versa, and the swarm can move through any opening large enough for a Tiny insect. The swarm can’t regain hit points or gain temporary hit points.
Stings. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 0 ft., one target in the swarm’s space. Hit: 10 (4d4) piercing damage, or 5 (2d4) piercing damage if the swarm has half of its hit points or fewer. The target must make a DC 10 Constitution saving throw, taking 4 (1d8) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Engulf. If the swarm has more than half its hit points and ends its turn in another creature’s space, that creature must make a DC 10 Strength saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is restrained by the swarm. At the end of each of its turns, a restrained creature can repeat the saving throw, freeing itself on a success.
A single bee is relatively harmless. But so-called “killer” bees are highly aggressive. These stinging insects have been known to attack humans without provocation. A single bee sting can cause severe allergic reactions and even death.
In Dungeons & Dragons, killer bees can also engulf and restrain creatures. This makes them dangerous to low-level characters. They also make powerful allies to characters who use the Conjure Animals spell to summon four beasts of challenge rating 1/2 or lower.
