Surf’s up! This new magic item for Dungeons & Dragons lets you surf across liquids, create walls of water, and knock down foes with a powerful splash.
Wand of the Waverider
Wand, rare (requires attunement by a Spellcaster)
Weight: ½ lb.
This wand was created by the legendary sea wizard Kohana Meia. A small sphere of water is suspended at the tip. The wand has 6 charges, and it regains 1d4+2 expended charges daily at dawn. While holding it, you can use an action to expend 1 or more of its charges and choose 1 of its effects.
Splash (1 charge). A burst of water erupts from the wand. Each creature in a 30-foot cone must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or take 1d4 bludgeoning damage and fall prone. Each object that isn’t being worn or carried and that weighs no more than 200 pounds is either knocked over or pushed up to 15 feet away from you. All non-magical flames within the cone are extinguished.
Surf’s Up (2 charges). A glowing, self-propelled surfboard appears for 1 minute. The board allows you to surf across any liquid surface–such as water, acid, mud, snow, or quicksand–at double your walking speed.
Water Wall (3 charges). You create a wall of water on the ground at a point you can see within 60 feet. You can make a linear wall up to 30 feet long, 10 feet high, and 1 foot thick or a ringed wall up to 20 feet in diameter, 20 feet high, and 1 foot thick. The wall’s space is difficult terrain, and the wall provides half cover. Acid, fire, or poison damage is halved if the damaging effect passes through the wall to reach its target. The wall vanishes after 1 minute.
