Sword of Solaris magic item for Dungeons and Dragons

This new magic item for Dungeons & Dragons is a longsword with powers fueled by the sun. The Sword of Solaris gains new features as your D&D character gains levels.

Weapon (longsword), rare [Tier 2]
(requires attunement)

Damage: 1d8+1 slashing

Weight: 3 lbs.

Properties: Versatile (1d10+1)

Once wielded by Solaris, a celestial who declared himself the Sun King, this longsword draws strength from the sun and starlight.

You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

Star Burn. If the blade is exposed to sunlight, it deals an extra 1d6 radiant damage on a hit. If it is exposed to starlight, it deals an extra 1d4 radiant damage instead. There is no extra damage when the blade is in darkness or lit by fire, magic, or other light sources.

Light of Day. The Sword of Solaris has 6 charges and regains 1d4 + 2 expended charges each day at dawn. You can use an action to expend 1 or more of its charges to cast one of the following spells from it: continual flame (2 charges), daylight (3 charges), or fire shield (4 charges).

Very Rare [Tier 3] upgrade

When you achieve level 10 while attuned to the Sword of Solaris, you have a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it.

Solar Charging. If the blade is exposed to sunlight for at least 1 hour, it deals an extra 1d6 radiant damage on a hit even in darkness for up to 6 hours.

Star Burst. You can use an action to make the sword release a burst of solar energy. Each creature in a 20-foot-radius sphere centered on the sword must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw. A target takes 8d6 radiant damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. This feature can be used a number of times per day equal to your proficiency bonus.

Legendary [Tier 4] upgrade

When you achieve level 17 while attuned to the Sword of Solaris, you have a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it.

Legendary Star Burn. If the blade is exposed to sunlight, it deals an extra 2d6 radiant damage on a hit. If it is exposed to starlight, it deals an extra 2d4 radiant damage instead. Even in darkness or artificial light, it deals an extra 1d8 radiant damage if the blade is exposed to sunlight for at least 1 hour a day.

Celestial Form. Once per day, you can use a bonus action to speak a command word. Your size increases by one category– from Medium to Large, for example, as if the enlarge/reduce spell was cast on you. You also sprout wings and have a 150 foot flying speed. The Sword of Solaris enlarges with you. It has a 10 foot reach and deals 3d8+3 slashing damage 1-handed, or 3d10+3 slashing damage 2-handed. This effect lasts for 1 hour or until you decide to end it.
