This new magic weapon for Dungeons & Dragons is an infernal weapon that oozes necrotic blood to deal extra damage. Forged in the frozen depths of Stygia, it also gives the wielder resistance to cold.
Stygian Necroblade
Weapon (longsword), very rare (requires attunement)
Nine of these infernal magic weapons were forged deep beneath Coldsteel fortress in the frozen wastes of Stygia, the sixth layer of the Nine Hells. They are wielded by Geryon’s elite ice devil warriors in the ongoing Blood Wars and for raids in the prime material plane.
You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. In addition, while you hold the sword, you have resistance to cold damage.
You can use a bonus action to cause black infernal blood to coat the blade. The next creature hit with an attack by this blade takes an additional 1d8 necrotic damage.
Proficiency with a longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
I took this beauty off an ice devil who was served a dish of fireball stew courtesy of yours truly. Despite being colder than a hag’s teat, it slices through flesh quite nicely. The icky black ooze makes it even more effective, although the smell is rather unpleasant. Like something died in a pit of sulfur. I sold it after a few weeks. Nothing wrong with it, I just had a feeling the original owners might come looking for it.
