This new spell for Dungeons & Dragons is an upgraded version of Stoneskin, making your skin as tough as adamantine steel alloy.
Steelskin
6th-level abjuration
(Druid, Sorcerer, Wizard)
Casting Time: 1 Action
Range/Area: Touch
Components: V, S, M (adamantine ingot worth 200 gp, which the spell consumes)
Duration: 1 minute, Concentration
This spell turns the flesh of a willing creature you touch as hard as adamantine steel alloy, increasing AC while unarmored by +2. Until the spell ends, the target has immunity to nonmagical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
The target’s unarmed attacks deal an additional 1d10 bludgeoning damage and count as magical weapons.
At Master and Epic Level. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th-9th level, choose 1 option:
- The duration increases by 1 minute for each slot level above 6th.
or - The target gains an additional +1 bonus to AC for each slot level above 6th, to a maximum +5 bonus.
Stoneskin is a useful 4th level Abjuration spell for Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition (Basic Rules, pg. 278) that can make a character’s skin as hard as stone, granting resistance to nonmagical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
Steelskin is an improved version of this spell, granting full immunity to nonmagical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage while also increasing the character’s unarmored AC (armor class) by +2.
In addition, while in Steelskin form, the character’s unarmed attacks count as magical weapons and deal an additional 1d10 bludgeoning damage. Perfect for casting on the adventure party’s monk PC!
