Inspired by a funny typo, this new magic weapon for Dungeons & Dragons is a shart short sword that stinks like poo and sprays you-know-what at enemies. Ewww…
Shart Sword
Weapon (shortsword), rare (requires attunement) [Tier 2]
Damage: 1d6+2 piercing
Weight: 2 lbs.
Properties: Finesse, Light
You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic shortsword.
Stench. Any creature other than you that starts its turn within 5 feet of the shart sword must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned until the start of the creature’s next turn. On a successful saving throw, the creature is immune to the stench of the sword for 1 hour.
Shart Spray. You can use an action to make the sword spray hot liquid feces in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in that area must succeed on a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw or take 10 (3d6) poison damage and be coated in the foul-smelling liquid. A coated creature exudes a horrible stench for 1d4 hours. The coated creature is poisoned as long as the stench lasts, and other creatures are poisoned while within 5 feet of the coated creature. A creature can remove the stench on itself by using a short rest to bathe. This feature can be used a number of times per day equal to your proficiency bonus.
Proficiency with a shortsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
Very Rare [Tier 3] upgrade
Septic Blade. A creature hit by the shart sword takes an additional 1d6 poison damage.
Induce Sharting. Once per day, the touch of the sword can cause a creature to experience violent flatulence and diarrhea. On a hit, the target must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or become incapacitated by uncontrollable sharting for 1 minute. At the end of each of its turns, the target can make another Constitution saving throw. On a success, the sharting ends.
Legendary [Tier 4] upgrade
You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic shortsword.
The Induce Sharting feature does not require a hit, has a DC 17 Constitution saving throw, and has a 20-foot-radius area of effect centered on the sword.
Summon Otyugh. Once per day, as an action you can summon a otyugh with the shart sword. The otyugh appears in an unoccupied space within 60 feet of you and is friendly to you and your companions. It understands your languages and obeys your spoken commands. If you issue no commands, the otyugh defends itself but takes no other actions. The otyugh disappears after 1 hour or when it drops to 0 hit points.
This unusual and disgusting weapon was wielded by Fulgar the Foul, a troglodyte mercenary and follower of Putridifus, demon lord of decay. The feces smeared blade randomly emits flatulent noises and gag-inducing odors.
