2nd level enchantment
Cast Time: Reaction
Range: 30 ft
Components: V
Duration: Instantaneous
When a creature within range rolls a natural 1 when making an attack against you, you can use your reaction to cause that creature to do something weird, funny, or dangerous in response. Choose one of the following effects or talk to your GM for alternatives.
- Fall Over. The target falls to the ground and becomes prone.
- Fumble. One object the target is holding drops to the ground.
- Gibberish. The target’s words are garbled until the start of their next turn. They can not verbally communicate, and spells with verbal components can not be cast.
- Stumble. The target moves forward 5 ft and has disadvantage on dexterity saving throws until the start of their next turn.
The triggering creature must also make a Wisdom saving throw. It takes 1d8 psychic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 2nd.
At Master Level. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th-7th level, the range increases to 60 feet and the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 2nd. You also gain new effect options:
- Confusion. The target doesn’t move or take actions on its next turn.
- Wander. The target uses all its movement to move in a random direction. To determine the direction, roll a d8 and assign a direction to each die face.
At Epic Level. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 8th or 9th level, the range increases to 90 feet and the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 2nd. You also gain new effect options:
- Enraged. The target uses its next action to make a melee attack against a randomly determined creature within its reach. If there is no creature within its reach, the target does nothing that turn.
- Retreat. The target is frightened of you and must use all its movement to move away from you.
