This new magic item for Dungeons & Dragons can absorb lightning damage and throw it back at your foes.
Gauntlets of Power
Wondrous Item, rare (requires attunement)
The Forge Lords of Brimstone created these gauntlets with a blessing from the storm god Tempest. The magic steel gauntlets crackle with electricity, ready to release their power against your enemies.
Shocking Hit. As a bonus action, you can charge the gauntlets for 1 minute. For the duration, any creature you hit with a melee attack takes an additional 2d8 lightning damage. This feature can be used once per day and recharges at dawn.
Throw Lightning. As an action, you can cast Lightning Bolt at 3rd level without expending a spell slot. A stroke of lightning forming a line 100 feet long and 5 feet wide blasts out from you in a direction you choose. Each creature in the line must make a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 8d6 lightning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. This feature can be used once per day and recharges at dawn.
Absorb Lightning. While you are wearing the gauntlets, you have immunity to lightning damage. If the gauntlets absorb 10 or more HP of lightning damage in one round, the Shocking Hit and Throw Lightning features are recharged.
