This new magic fruit for Dungeons & Dragons increases your intelligence for an hour. Just don’t trust any serpents who give it to you.
Fruit of Knowledge
Potion (food), rare
When you consume this fruit, you gain +2 to your Intelligence for one hour. In addition, any Intelligence based ability checks or saving throws made during this time are rolled with advantage.
Magic items don’t have to be powerful weapons or fanciful contraptions. Magic foods, potions, and other consumable items are a great way for Dungeon Masters to give their players a little boost without making them overpowered or otherwise upsetting the game mechanics.
The fruit of knowledge is inspired by the Adam and Eve myth. Consuming it can bump up your wizard’s abilities, or help out a party where everyone chose Intelligence as their dump stat.
An hour may not seem like a long time, but in game time it should help characters accomplish many tasks like researching a spell or discovering the BBEG’s secret hideout. If more time is needed, you could provide another fruit of knowledge.
The fruit of knowledge can also lead to side quests to gather the fruit or protect the tree that bears it from a monster or other evil doer.
