Bracers of Web Slinging magic item for Dungeons and Dragons

Do whatever a spider can with this new magic item for Dungeons & Dragons. These magic bracers let your character climb walls, shoot webs, and everything else you need to be a friendly neighborhood hero.


Bracers of Web Slinging

Wondrous Item, rare [Tier 2]

(requires attunement)

Weight: ¼ lb.

Spider Climb. You can use an action to cast the spider climb spell on yourself. This feature can be used a number of times per day equal to your proficiency bonus.

Web Shooter. The bracers have 8 charges. You can use an action to expend 1 charge to cast the web spell (save DC 15) from one of the bracers. The bracers regain 1d6 + 2 expended charges daily at dawn.

Web Slinger. You can use an action to shoot a string of webbing up to 30 feet away. This web can grab small objects and pull them to you. If you shoot the web at something above that can support your weight, such as a ceiling or tree branch, you can use your movement to swing up to 60 feet away. This feature can be used a number of times per day equal to your proficiency bonus.

Very Rare [Tier 3] upgrade

When you achieve level 10 while attuned to the bracers, you gain two new features.

Spider Sense. As a reaction, you gain advantage on Dexterity saving throws until the end of your next turn. This feature can be used a number of times per day equal to your proficiency bonus.

Web Shield. You can use an action to create a temporary shield from webs. You gain a +3 bonus to AC while you wield this shield. In addition, if a melee attack against you fails by 5 or more, the attacker’s weapon is stuck to your shield and cannot be wielded. The weapon can be freed with a Strength (Athletics) roll versus your Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) roll. After 1 minute, the web shield unravels and disappears. You can create a web shield 3 times per day.

Legendary [Tier 4] upgrade

When you achieve level 17 while attuned to the bracers, the features improve.

Legendary Spider Sense. As a reaction, you gain advantage on Dexterity saving throws for 1 minute. This feature can be used a number of times per day equal to your proficiency bonus.

Legendary Web Shooter. The bracers have 16 charges. You can use an action to expend 1 charge to cast the web spell (save DC 18) from one of the bracers. The bracers regain 1d12 + 4 expended charges daily at dawn.

Legendary Web Slinger. You can use an action to shoot a string of webbing up to 60 feet away. This web can grab medium or smaller objects and pull them to you. If you shoot the web at something above that can support your weight, such as a ceiling or tree branch, you can use your movement to swing up to 90 feet away. This feature can be used a number of times per day equal to your proficiency bonus.

Power Tiers

To help Game Masters determine which player character levels a magic item is appropriate for, each item is assigned a power tier.

Tier 1: Levels 1 – 4
Common and Uncommon items for characters still learning their abilities.

Tier 2: Levels 5 – 10
Uncommon and Rare items for characters who are seasoned adventurers.

Tier 3: Levels 11 – 16
Very Rare items for characters who are established masters of their class.

Tier 4: Levels 17 +
Legendary items for characters who are like superheroes or demigods.

An item’s power tier is only a suggestion, and the GM should consider how each item would best fit with their campaign and player characters.
