This new magic item for Dungeons & Dragons is a compass that can guide you home or point to something that you need, like food or healing.
Wayfinder Compass
Wondrous Item, rare [Tier 2]
Weight: ¼ lb.
This handheld arcane device is commonly used by airship navigators who travel between planes.
As a bonus action, you can make the wayfinder point north. This feature works even in places where magic or magnetism interfere with a normal compass. If you are on another plane of existence, the wayfinder points towards the nearest portal to the material plane.
You have advantage on Wisdom (Survival) checks to navigate using the wayfinder.
As an action, you can cast the guidance cantrip (see below) with the wayfinder.
Once per day, you can make the wayfinder point in the direction of something you need. This can be something vague like “healing” or “a friend” but not a specific object or individual creature. The wayfinder will point to what you need for 12 hours or until you find it, whichever comes first.
