The Color of Bloodwood

I’ve spent most of the day color correcting shots that Color f’ed up and the process is going faster than I thought. Only a few shots will have to go to After Effect, mostly the day for night.

Because they mostly come out at night… Mostly.

Apple Color can bite me

Mike Wilhelm did a fantastic job with the color correction on Bloodwood using Color. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the corrected shots back as FCP sequences. For a couple weeks now I’ve been trying to deal with various problems when exporting color corrected shots from Color back into Final Cut Pro. After dealing with one distorted/cropped/trimmed shot after another, I finally decided that Color is a worthless piece of crap and I’m re-doing every screwed up shot in FCP’s 3-way color corrector (or After Effects if FCP can’t cut it).

Note to Apple: Final Cut Studio is a nice suite, EXCEPT for Color. You can create great effects in it, but it’s basically worthless if half the shots are FUBARed when trying to send them back to FCP.  Thank you for making my job twice as hard as it already is.
